Lower channel DX
Why does it seem the big blow torch stations DX on lower channels. Like 11 and 6 are big ones. Don't you get a little better performance on upper channels?
Thanks

Channels 6 and 11 have been popular for skip shooting for decades, and keep in mind that prior to 1977 there were just 23 channels of CB.
As far as 11M cb goes, there isn't any difference whether you're on ch 1 or 40 as far as ground wave goes. If you were to go lower, say to the 21, 18, of 14 Mhz ham bands, you might find that the band is open when it isn't on 11M, but this is skip, not groundwave. Actually on the 20M band (14 Mhz), you will have much shorter groundwave than on CB.
