Dumb question about the clarifier mods.
Dumb question about the clarifier mods.
What does it do to a radio when you have the clarifier unlocked and what is the advantage if it is done to an 11 meter radio(cb) verses a 10 meter radio?
Re: Dumb question about the clarifier mods.
Unless the radio has a built in frequency counter unlocking the clarifier is a bad idea.jug head wrote:What does it do to a radio when you have the clarifier unlocked and what is the advantage if it is done to an 11 meter radio(cb) verses a 10 meter radio?

Not necessarily so...
Some of the older radio's the clarifier works only on SSB. Some can be modified to work on AM as well. Some take the transmit with, some don't, depends on who did the work. If someboby talking is off freq you can zip right in on them. Not so if you can't slide on AM, they remain difficult to understand. I believe the preference is to take the transmit with, as you would be sliding up or down to meet the other guy who's off freq.
