575 M6 Mic

#62338

Post by Skater229 »

I am looking for a 575m6 mic, if anyone has one please let me know... If you can not get me on this forum get ahold of me on the others...

I might get banned for saying this but the 50 post rule stinks... Just because I am new here or don't donate, I can't post in the wanted section... I would like to think I am know by a few folks on here...

So if i get canned you know where to find me... If not then I am still looking for the mic...

Thanks,
Skater

Hey Skater. I would vouch for ya, but I don't have any more credibility on this forum than you do! LOL! Hopefully one of the longtime forum junkies will let the mods know you are a lifer!

i only paid $35 for my first one last year and got another one in a trade so, basically i only paid $35 for both.
i recently replaced the PTT switch in one of them, it was working till i let my buddy borrow it, then he took the ptt switch apart and gave it back to me, i used a switch out of an old superstar hand held power mic to replace it.
i did order a switch from the in ternet but, they sent me a switch from the older version of the 575 so, i couldnt use it.

Like they say "Old Post Never Die" . They were good mics though, must have been because they were made in the "Good Ole' USA"

I ordered the PTT switch for my Astatic 575 from Kens electronics,
They sent me the larger plastic switch that wouldnt fit inside my mic .
part number ( R-PTT-5 4PDT-pcb ).
there are 2 different Astatic 575m6b mics.
Theres an older version and the newer version.
one has the larger PTT switch made from plastic ( R-PTT-5 4PDT-pcb ), the other has the smaller PTT switch metal not listed.
I ended up finding the correct PTT switch inside a Superstar hand held power mic that worked.
Since the Superstar hand helds are cheap and dont really do anything for modulation, I didnt mind sacraficing that mic for the part.

I just e-mailed redman cb radio and here is what I got back. His answer is in bold. He does sell a clone of the astatic 575-m6, which is made by RF Limited, called the CR577 with tone control.

I have never had one new or used. Sorry.
Used you might find them on ebay, but expect to pay way to much..

A guy on the CBRT forum says that he has bought one of these mics from you. Did he buy a used one from you or was it new, or is he full of it? Thanks.
